Thaci reiterates idea of ‘border correction’
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci reiterated the idea of ‘border correction’ with Serbia saying the majority of Presheva Valley residents would welcome it.
In his remarks to the media following a meeting with representatives of Presheva Valley association of journalists and civil society, Thaci said ‘border correction’ could happen within the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and through a legally binding agreement that would result in mutual recognition.
This, he said, would also pave way for Kosovo’s recognition by five EU member states.
Asked to comment on the recent statement of Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj that energy should not be wasted on border correction idea but rather on increasing the number of recognitions, Thaci said he does not comment on anyone’s statements but noted that everyone should work towards ensuring Presheva Valley joins Kosovo.
