Man City ready to TRIPLE young star Arijanet Muric’s wages

MANCHESTER CITY is ready to reward highly-rated young goalkeeper Arijanet Muric with a new long-term contract.

The 20-year-old stopper has established himself as the No2 at the Etihad this season after Claudio Bravo's long-term Achilles injury.

The one-cap Kosovo international has appeared in the Carabao Cup this season, helping them all-but reach the final as City lead Burton 9-0 on aggregate.

And despite Muric still having two years left on his deal, boss Pep Guardiola wants to give him fresh terms before the end of the campaign.

He is thought to be on as little as £3,000-a-week, which will be significantly boosted with his new contract to towards £10,000-a-week.

City decided to sell Angus Gunn to Southampton last summer after being happy with the 6ft 5ins goalkeeper's progress in the academy.

An Etihad source said: “Ari will get a new contract after impressing everyone here. He has been great in the cup this season.

“His performance in the penalty shootout a few rounds back was amazing.

"He will be hoping he starts the final at Wembley.”

Muric was recalled from a loan spell with Dutch side NAC Breda at the start of this season following Bravo's training ground injury.
