INDEP advises upcoming gvt to cancel contract for new power plant

Representatives of the think tank argued that although Kosovo has yet to join the European Union, it has an obligation, as a member of the Energy Community Treaty, to build a coal-free future. 

The Institute for Development Policy (INDEP), a Prishtina-based think tank that provides independent research-based policy solutions, held a press conference on Tuesday advising the upcoming government of Kosovo to annul the contract for the construction of Kosova e Re power plant, claiming that such an investment would damage Kosovo’s economy, the environment, and its European prospects.
