EBRD raises Kosovo`s 2017 GDP growth forecast
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) raised on Tuesday its projection for Kosovo`s economic growth in 2017 to 3.7% from 3.5% forecast in May.
The economic growth has been primarily driven by rising investment and positive contributions from net exports and private consumption, the EBRD said in its Regional Economic Prospects report.
EBRD maintained its economic growth forecast for Kosovo in 2018 at 3.5%.
“However, downside risks include possible delays to key infrastructure projects, which are crucial for the long-term sustainability of the economy," the bank said.
In 2016, Kosovo economic growth slowed to 3.4%, from 4% in 2015, the EBRD estimated.
The EBRD expects economic growth in Southeastern Europe (SEE) to stand at 3.6% in 2017 and at 3.3% next year.
