Thaçi: Promotions strengthen the future of the KSF
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, pursuant to his constitutional and legal powers and in accordance with the joint recommendation of the Minister of the Kosovo Security Force and the Commander of the Kosovo Security Force, today has made new promotions and appointments in the Kosovo Security Force.
Brigadier General Bashkim Jashari and Brigadier General Zymer Halimi are promoted to Major General.
Brigadier General Enver Cikaqi has been appointed as Commander of the Land Forces and Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Security Force.
President Thaçi has also promoted five colonels of the Kosovo Security Force in the rank of Brigadier General.
Colonel Irfete Spahiu has been promoted to Brigadier General and has been appointed Commander of the Doctrine and Training Command of the Kosovo Security Force.
Colonel Skender Zhitia has also been promoted to Brigadier General who is appointed as Director of the Personnel Department in the Ministry of Kosovo Security Force.
Colonel Naim Haziri has also been promoted to Brigadier General and has been appointed Commander of the Support Operations Brigade in the Kosovo Security Force.
Also promoted to the rank of Brigadier General are Colonels Xhevahir Geci dhe Fadil Hadergjonaj.
Brigadier General Xhevahir Geci has been appointed to the post of Deputy Commander of the Land Forces Command in the Kosovo Security Force, while Brigadier General Fadil Hadergjonaj has been appointed to the post of Staff Officer of the Cabinet of the Minister of the Kosovo Security Force.
President Thaçi said that these new promotions are not random, since the Kosovo Security Force itself has grown and developed over the years.
“It has become a modern, multi-ethnic force with NATO standards. As a Security Force, ready to take additional responsibilities, it always needs new staff, but also the experience of the newly promoted, who with their commitment have brought the Kosovo Security Force close to the transformation into the Armed Forces of Kosovo. I am convinced that, the newly promoted, along with the other members of the KSF, after the transformation into the Kosovo Armed Forces, will work to integrate our strength, our army into NATO and together with all peacekeeping forces will contribute in maintaining peace and stability in the region and beyond”, said President Thaçi.
President Thaçi has wished success to all who are promoted and appointed today.
