Kurti meets KFOR Commander

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti hosted on Thursday morning KFOR Commander, Michele Risi.

Kurti announced the meeting during a press conference on Wednesday when he presented details of a “secret” agreement of his predecessor and current president Hashim Thaci with the then NATO Secretary-General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

On Wednesday Kurti addressed an official letter to the Speaker of the Assembly Vjosa Osmani, informing her about the existence of the secret agreement, between the then Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and the then Secretary-General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

In the 2013 letter written by Thaci and published by the Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Thaci assures Rasmussen that “the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) would only undertake a mission in Northern Kosovo with prior concurrence with KFOR”. Kurti in a press conference on Wednesday said the “secret agreement” offers sufficient evidence for Thaci’s dismissal. During a press conference on Wednesday Kurti said he would meet KFOR Commander Michele Risi on Thursday, adding that he remains committed to cooperation with KFOR and NATO.
