Albania and Kosovo will have a single joint basketball league. This is the first time we have a union between the two countries in sports. The agreement was signed by the ministers of both countries on Thursday (September 10th).

Present at the signing of the agreement was Albanian Prime Minister Rama, who said that this is an example of cooperation that should be replicated in other areas.

“We are applauding this and other initiatives to create concrete coordination to organize a unique league, but not only in terms of sports but also in other directions,” said Rama in his greeting speech.

He said that this agreement was reached after a long period:

“It certainly took a period of maturity for these ideas to materialize, desires that have existed for a long time. I remember this wish for a long time…”
