Hoti: Agreement on Kosovo`s energy independence to enter into force

Prime Minister of Kosovo Avdullah Hoti announced that the Continental Europe Regional Group, part of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity, has decided that the connection agreement signed with Kosovo`s electricity transmission system operator will be entering into force.

The agreement, hailed as the end of Kosovo's reliance on Serbia's electricity grid, was signed on 30 June 2020.

Hoti said Kosovo has met all conditions set out in the agreement and is ready to start operating as part of a joint energy bloc with Albania.

"Through our right and support from allies, energy independence was made possible," he said in a statement.
