Kosovo`s economy expected to increase by 9.9%

Kosovo’s economy during 2020 has decreased by 5.5 percent, while public debt has increased to 1.5 billion euros.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti, presenting the financial report for 2020 to the Budget Committee, said that the COVID 19 pandemic has caused the economic decline and increased public debt.

However, Mehmeti said that economic activity in the first half of 2021 was 10.1 percent higher than the previous year.

Asked by Kosovo Assembly MPs about the issue of insurance companies, Mehmeti said that they have implemented the law for each of them.

Eman Rrahamani, a member of this commission from the ranks of the Vetevendosje Movement (LVV), called this report of the governor generalized and without any concrete accountability.
