Kosovo to formally apply for CoE membership today

RTK Government sources have indicated that Kosovo is expected to apply today for membership in the Council of Europe.

The request for application in Strasbourg is expected to be submitted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, who yesterday represented Kosovo at the meeting of the leaders of the six Western Balkan countries.

The informal dinner, organized by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, was also attended by the Presidents and Prime Ministers of Serbia, Albania, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kosovo was represented by Gërvalla, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, as President Osmani is already in Lithuania on an official visit while Prime Minister Kurti is in the United States.
