Hill: US supports EU efforts for the Kosovo-Serbia agreement

The American ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, said the United States supports the European Union in efforts to solve the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.

"[The problem] has been going on for too long and it's time for progress," Hill told reporters at the Regional Forum for Europe and Eurasia - EducationUSA in Belgrade, Beta reports.

The American ambassador did not want to comment on the alleged plan for the new dialogue framework between Kosovo and Serbia, which was drawn up after the engagement of envoys from Germany and France.

"It is not for me to comment on the proposals, except to say that the US supports the EU, which is trying very hard to find a solution that is acceptable to everyone, and that is not easy," Hill said.

Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, said on September 10 that European diplomats have proposed a "new framework" for dialogue between Prishtina and Belgrade. The EU's special representative for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, in his reaction, said he was surprised by such announcements.
