Vjosa river declared national park- Di Caprio greets the decision

Well-known US actor, Leonardo Di Caprio greets the decision after Vjosa River has been declared a national park.

Leonardo Di Caprio was one of the most outspoken activists for the protection of the Vjosa river. In a post on social networks, Di Caprio described this as a historic moment while welcoming the decision taken by the government of Albania.

He emphasizes that the cooperation between the Albanian government, civil society, and businesses have created the first Wild River National Park in Europe.

"The Vjosa River will flow freely forever, from the source to the sea, for future generations to enjoy. Now, there is a new vision for global river conservation. Congratulations to all who made this amazing effort a reality," writes Di Caprio.

The American actor is an ambassador for the Environmental Conservation Organization, Rewild.
