Osmani: Serbia to be penalized if it refuses to respect the agreement

The international community must put pressure on Serbia to respect the obligations agreed upon in Ohrid- said the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, adding that the statements coming from Belgrade of not being willing to respect any of the points endangers the essence of the agreement.

"All the pressure should be on Serbia so that it respects the obligations it has undertaken. I understand that a signature as such is not necessary to make an agreement legally binding. The international community should focus on Vuçiq to abide by what he has agreed upon and that in essence constitutes a 'de facto recognition of Kosovo. The only thing missing is a letter of recognition that he has not yet signed. There should be a clear penalty for Serbia", Osmani said.

The Kosovar president said that whenever Serbian leadership states that they will not implement any of the points, and then asks for a seal from the Serbian Assembly to not implement what was agreed upon in Ohrid and Brussels, it essentially endangers the agreement.
