On a trip to Çaber in Zubin Potok, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, along with Minister Artane Rizvanolli and other Telecom officials, tested the internet speed of "Vala".
Kurti emphasized that electronic communications are a fundamental right and necessity for citizens and that Telekom i Kosova provides an opportunity and guarantee for citizens to access high-speed internet. The internet speed in Çaber of Zubin Potok was measured at 140 Mbps, which was made possible by replacing the transmission base station with Ericsson technology from Alcatel.
Previously, private companies charged 7,500 to 8,500 euros for such an installation, but now Telecom workers have installed 15 new base stations in the north, compared to only five before.
Kurti noted that Kosovo Telecom is guided by the coverage and quality of public service, not just financial benefit.
