The Ministry of Economy and the International Financial Corporation have signed the agreement for the development of the wind auction.

The Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli has emphasized that this project will affect the creation of a more secure energy sector.

"Today we are signing the agreement for the development of the next auction, the first wind auction. All these are important steps towards realizing our vision as a government, which is to create a sector that provides security of supply and relies on resources local for energy independence. Our energy strategy, with work, is completely feasible. The construction of wind capacities is very complex. Therefore, we prove that with the completion of this project, we have the energy transition achievable. We have foreseen in this project a competent public-private partnership. We make sure that not the entire cost of the energy transition is reflected in consumer tariffs in the medium term. This is our way of ensuring that in case of crises that we may experience later, to have a quantity of energy produced in public ownership so that it is easier to intervene in the market to protect consumers," said the head of the Department of Economy.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Marquiet, regional manager at IFC, stated that the project is very important for Kosovo to have a secure energy sector.
