24th Book Fair edition begins in Prishtina

The 24th edition of the Book Fair in Prishtina has opened. This year`s theme is "The answer is the book," and it will be open to visitors every day from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., ending on Sunday.
The chairman of the Association of Publishers, Edon Zeneli, said that the late-night work of authors, translators, editors, proofreaders, and the great effort of publishers and printing press workers, materialized in the magical tool called a book, is approaching its goal: the reader. He further thanked the traditional partners of the book fair, MKRS, and the Directorate of Culture in Prishtina, who made it possible to organize such an event.
He also thanked the workers of the Youth Palace for arranging the stands and mostly thanked the publishers "who relentlessly work to shape people, to shape society."
The Minister of Culture, Hajrulla Çeku, has described the Book Fair as one of the valuable cultural traditions.
"The Book Fair is one of the most beautiful traditions of post-war Kosovo. I am very pleased to be here, with such a large number of publishers, hundreds and thousands of publications, activities. The institutions must be at the disposal of the publishers, of the authors, to advance this common mission," said Çeku.
The Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, said that interest in reading is growing.
"Today at the 24th anniversary of the Book Fair in Prishtina, we welcome thousands of new and old titles, newly written books, and books that return to the reader's attention thanks to their indisputable value over many years. This is living proof of the increased interest of readers in Kosovo and the awareness of the value of the book throughout life," said Nagavci.
