CBK: Pension funds’ assets up to 2.94 billion euros

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) has reported that as of the end of June 2024, the assets of the pension funds amounted to 2.94 billion euros.

According to CBK, the majority (78.02%) of the assets in the pension sector are in the form of equity securities.

CBK also stated that loans make up the dominant portion (67.93%) of the asset structure of these institutions. In June 2024, gross loans of other financial intermediaries reached 396.48 million euros, showing an increase of 6.13 million euros compared to the previous period. The announcement highlights that loans to family economies make up the majority (59.76%) of the total loans from other financial intermediaries.

Furthermore, new loans issued by other financial intermediaries in June 2024 amounted to 51.60 million euros.

Additionally, the CBK reported that the assets of insurance companies reached 326.21 million euros at the end of June 2024, which marks an increase of 7.59 million euros compared to the previous month.

The asset structure in the insurance sector comprises balances with commercial banks (44.97%), securities and other assets (28.39%), and reinsurance with participation (15.48%).
