Durres` "Roman Thermal Spas" open to public after 25 years

After 25 years the Roman Thermal Spas in Durres which date back to the first century AD are open to the public.

This important monument of the city adds to the antiquity heritage of Durres as a value of cultural tourism but also as a an archaeological site which will attract all visitors, locals and foreigners.
Minister of Culture Mirela Kumbaro, who visited the Roman spas said the ancient monument is a testimony of history is one of the forms of our cultural heritage’ promotion which has an impact on increase of tourism.
To Durres mayor, Dako, history and cultural heritage have an important place in his projects.
The project was made possible within the framework of an arrangement between DRKK- Durrës, University Lumiere Lyon2 in France, Archaeology Institute of Durres municipality. The students of the project “Friend of Monument” have also provided their contribution by engaging in this project.
