Sophia Loren, diva e kinemasë italiane dhe asaj botërore feston sot 85-vjetorin e lindjes. 85 vite mbi supe, nga të cilat mbi 60 në botën e kinemasë dhe artit e shndërrojnë Loren në aktoren simbol.

Karrierën do ta niste që në moshën 14-vjeçare në vitin 1949 kur spikati në një konkurs bukurie. Katër vite më vonë do të mbërrinte edhe roli i parë i saj në kinema kur luan “joshësen” Kleopatra në filmin “Dy net me Kleopatrën”. Ajo ishte vetëm 24 vjeçe kur kishte xhiruar mbi 40 filma.

Kulmin e karrierës do ta prekte në vitet ’60 ku shihej si “balanca” europiane përballë Marylin Monroe dhe Elizabeth Taylor. Aktorja italiane më pas iu bashkëngjit edhe Hollywood-it për t’u shfaqur në dhjetëra filma si protagoniste dhe joprotagoniste./atsh

She starred opposite Anthony Quinn in the 1960 film "Heller in Pink Tights."

Loren connected with a left to John Wayne's chin during filming for "The Legend of the Lost" at Guadame, Libya, in 1957.

Italian actress Sophia Loren turns 85 on Sept. 20, 2019. She is the only one of the American Film Institute's 25 female greatest screen legends who is still alive. Here, Loren plays piano after a press conference in Munich, Germany, on Feb. 10, 1955. Behind her is her mother, Romilda Villani. 


During filming of "C'era Una Volta" ("Happily Ever After") on Sept. 21, 1966. The movie was shot on location in Padula, a small town in southern Italy.


She starred in the movie, filmed in 1966, opposite Omar Sharif.

While promoting her autobiographical movie, Loren signed autographs on Sept. 25, 1980, at Lord & Taylor department store in New York.

Loren received an honorary Oscar at the 63rd annual Academy Awards on March 25, 1991.

Loren hosted a star-studded reception for "Mary Poppins Returns" on Jan. 11, 2019 in Beverly Hills. Director Rob Marshall was one of the guests.
